Selleck signs on with Trinity College

Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Paul Selleck has committed to the Trinity College Bantams for the 2019-20 season, continuing a trend in recent years of BCHL players joining the Bantams program, including seven who played on last year’s team.

The Laguna Hills, Calif. native played two BCHL seasons. He started his career with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in 2017-18 and joined the Capitals to begin last season. Selleck finishes up with 67 points in 114 regular-season games. He played his best hockey during the 2019 BCHL Playoffs where he had nine points (four goals, five assists) in 12 games as Cowichan Valley pulled off a first-round upset of the Interior Division champion Penticton Vees.

Trinity College is an NCAA Division III school located in Hartford, Conn. and playing out of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Bantams are five-time NESCAC champions and won a national title in 2015.

The seven BCHL alums on last year’s Bantams roster include Selleck’s former teammate in Alberni Valley Cole Poliziani, former Vernon Viper Bryce Eviston, Chilliwack Chiefs alum Eric Benshadle, former Trail Smoke Eater Charlie Zuccarini, Merritt Centennials alum Nick Fiorentino and Surrey Eagles grads Connor Sundquist and Andy Chugg.
