It’s Always Best to Start at the Beginning

Welcome to BCHLNetwork.ca!

First of all, thank you to everyone for their support with my previous website and on Twitter over the years, today’s launch is all thanks to you.

It has been quite a summer so far. What started as a quick Twitter poll asking if you’d read my personal BCHL news website quickly morphed into the site you’re on right now. Paul and Jesse from the illustrious DubNetwork reached out and the rest is history.

Why this? Why now?

I really felt that on my own, I couldn’t dedicate the time necessary to bring you the amount of BCHL coverage the league deserves. After close to eleven years (on and off) writing about the league, you’ll benefit much more from this collaboration. This is such an incredible opportunity to expand into more of a collective and a movement to involve the great fans of what we feel is Canada’s best junior A hockey league. I hope our work can benefit fans, players, teams and the league itself. We need to seize the opportunity, so the time is right for us to begin the next step in the journey.

Although I’ll still be writing, my main role is as managing editor and we’ve added a group of writers who will strive to get information that goes beyond what the league and teams provide. There will be interviews, editorials, scouting reports and more. That said, we are always on the lookout for additional writers so please get in touch if you’d like to join us.

I would like to thank all the supporters of Brian’s Banter – that site isn’t going anywhere. I’ll continue to keep the domain alive so that previous posts are available to view, but there will be a link on the site to redirect you to this new site. Please give us some time to iron out the kinks, and if you have any suggestions, questions, comments and/or concerns please feel free to e-mail me directly at b.wiebe@bchlnetwork.ca.
