Stephen Castagna took a high sticking penalty to set up an opening power play goal for the Clippers from Devon Mussio. Then, back to back goals from Olivier Fizet and Ryan Doolin sent the Bulldogs to the first intermission with a 2-1 lead.
A hooking penalty to Tommy Bannister set up a tying goal from Trevor LeDonne on the power play. Matt Grouchy then scored to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead, but Mussio and Josh Kagan found the back of the net before the second period was out.
In the third period, Kagan and Joshua Bourne put a bow on three unanswered goals for the Clippers to salt it away for Nanaimo. Late in the game things got nasty as Bulldogs forward Dawson Tritt got a major penalty and game misconduct for a blow to the head. Alberni Valley forward Austin Spiridakis along with Mussio and Zack Dallazanna from the Clippers each got 10 minute misconducts for the skirmish afterwards.
