Warriors forward Vieten suspended three games for match penalty
West Kelowna is without rookie forward Drew Vieten for the next three games due a suspension that came after a review by the BCHL.
The 19-year-old has been suspended for three games after it was determined that he should have been assessed a match penalty for checking from behind. Vieten played in game two of the series on Friday, which is when the infraction must have occurred, as the suspension was posted by the BCHL on Saturday.
Vieten will sit out games three and four on Sunday and Tuesday respectively, as well as game five on Wednesday if West Kelowna is able to extend the series to that point. If the Vees win the next two games and sweep the Warriors, Vieten will also have to sit out the first game of West Kelowna’s 2020-21 season.
Eagles lose the services of defenceman O’Hearn to suspension
Defenceman Kieran O’Hearn isn’t available for the Eagles as they try to dig themselves out of a 2-0 series deficit against Chilliwack. O’Hearn was dinged with a blow to the head minor penalty and a misconduct during the third period of Friday’s game one versus the Chiefs.
The blow to the head infraction is O’Hearn’s third of the season and comes with a three game suspension. He sat out Saturday’s game and will also miss games three and four on Monday and Tuesday respectively. If the Eagles win one of the next two games, O’Hearn is eligible to return for game five of the series on Thursday.
