Eagles make a three-way deal with Merritt and Carleton Place

The Surrey Eagles have swung a three-way deal with the Merritt Centennials and Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League that sees 2004-born forward Drew Dornan end up in Ontario.

Then Surrey moved Dornan and future considerations to Carleton Place for 2003-born forward Bill Gourgon. Gourgon, who hails from Carp, ON, finished 2021-22 with a dozen goals and 37 points in 38 games with the Canadians.

He was a 12th-round selection, 231st overall, by the North Bay Battalion in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
