The Salmon Arm Silverbacks finished fourth in the B.C. Hockey League’s Interior Conference this season with a 27-20-4-3 record and faced the Prince George Spruce Kings in the first round of the Fred Page Cup playoffs.
Salmon Arm eliminated the Spruce Kings in four games before facing Vernon in the second round. The Silverbacks knocked out the Vipers in five games to advance against Penticton in the Interior Conference final. The Vees took out Salmon Arm in five games.
The Silverbacks have seven players committed to NCAA Division I schools for this September as of this writing, one committed to U SPORTS in Matthew Tovell, and two committed to NCAA Division III schools in Jayden Grier and Will Lavigne. Salmon Arm doesn’t have any players aging out.

Salmon Arm general manager Brooks Christensen and head coach Tyler Shattock have eight forwards, five defenders, and one goalie eligible to return in 2023-24.
These numbers will likely change as players move to other leagues like the Western Hockey League, U.S. Hockey League, or North American Hockey League. They may drop to junior B, be sent away in trades, retire, or commit to college before September, and don’t return to their BCHL club.
The depth chart is based on the league going with a 24-player roster next season and coaches going with 14 forwards, eight defenders, and two goaltenders.
