Vees swap goalies with the Storm

The Penticton Vees made another offseason move as they sent 2000-born goaltender Carl Stankowski to the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for 2001-born goalie Kaeden Lane.

Stankowski secured 14 wins, had a 2.08 goals-against average, and a .915 save percentage in 18 games with the Vees. Before playing in Penticton, he played for the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League.

Lane spent the last two seasons with the Storm going 31-33 in 77 total games. This season he earned nine wins in 30 games, had a 3.00 goals-against average, and a .899 save percentage.

Cheifs acquire Clarkson commit Martino

The Chilliwack Chiefs made a big offseason trade with the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League to acquire Ayrton Martino in exchange for future considerations.

The 2002-born forward played the past two seasons with the Buzzer’s scoring 39 goals and adding 82 assists in 97 games. The product of Toronto, Ontario is committed to Clarkson University for the 2021-22 season.

Cents add to their bench staff

The Merrit Centennials added to their bench staff after promoting Levi Stuart who was their video coach last season to assistant coach and adding Jason Purpur as the team’s new athletic therapist.

Before joining the Centennials last season, Stuart spent time with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League and also the Vernon Vipers primarily as a video coach.

Purpur comes to the Cents after spending last season as an athletic therapist with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. He also spent some time as an assistant athletic therapist with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
