The Penticton Vees have named 2002-born Matteo Costantini as an assistant captain for the 2020-21 season. He joins captain Fin Williams along with assistants Tyler Ho, Jackson Niedermayer, and Ethan Martini as the Vees leadership core.

Costantini led the Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in scoring in 2019-20 with 36 goals and 32 assists in 50 games.

Benn and the Stars on the verge of elimination

Jamie Benn (42 goals and 23 assists in 61 games with Victoria from 2005-07) had an assist for his first point of the Stanley Cup Final, but the Dallas Stars captain and his team are on the verge of being knocked out by the Tampa Bay Lightning after a 5-4 overtime loss on Friday night.

The Lightning now has a 3-1 series lead and can win the Stanley Cup with a win in game five tonight in the National Hockey League’s Edmonton bubble.
