Grizzlies add Hiebert from the Ontario Hockey League

The Victoria Grizzlies have signed 2001-born defenseman and Oakville, ON native Clark Hiebert, who spent the 2020-21 season with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League.
Hiebert didn’t get into any games with the Storm this past season due to the pandemic, but played 38 games in 2019-20 and posted eight points.
He also posted 45 points in 111 games in the Ontario Junior Hockey League with Milton and Burlington from 2017-19.

Vernon Vipers graduating defenseman Hunter Donohoe has committed to MacEwan University in Edmonton, AB to play U SPORTS hockey.
Donohoe, a 2000-born blueliner from Surrey, BC, had two goals and six points in 19 games with the Vipers during the 2020-21 pod season.
He added a pair of goals and 11 points in 35 games in Vernon in 2019-20 after leaving Seattle of the Western Hockey League.
BCHL partners with Climate and Sport Initiative

The BC Hockey League announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with the Climate and Sport Initiative and will have a Save Pond Hockey event as part of the league’s 60th anniversary weekend in Penticton from Jan. 14-16.
In a news release announcing the partnership, the BCHL notes that all-time great Hayley Wickenheiser and other special guests will participate in the anniversary weekend and promote their message of climate change action.
Slick and Vincent named to leadership roles at Holy Cross

College of the Holy Cross announced on Tuesday that defenseman Matt Slick (four goals, eight assists in 58 games with Chilliwack in 2017-18) will return as its captain for the 2021-22 NCAA season.
Slick, who hails from Laredo, TX, is entering his senior year at Holy Cross and has 17 points in 84 games over the last three seasons.
Forward Anthony Vincent (12 goals, 25 assists in 79 games with Chilliwack from 2016-18) will serve as an alternate captain at Holy Cross for the third straight season.
The Wilton, CT product is also a senior at the college and has 37 points in 70 career NCAA games since his rookie year in 2018-19.
