The BCHL’s new initiative of bringing junior A hockey to a neutral market kicked off Friday in Kitimat, BC. The event includes two regular season games between Prince George and Langley – one tonight and one tomorrow afternoon.

With its 3-2 win over the Penticton Vees on Friday, the Coquitlam Express clinched the Ron Boileau Trophy as BCHL regular season champions. It’s the first time in franchise history the Express have finished first overall in the BCHL.

The Cranbrook Bucks continue to piece together their roster for their inaugural BCHL season. On Friday the team announced the signing of defenceman Rhys Bentham from the Calgary Midget Royals. Bentham, 17, has two goals and nine assists in 31 games as the Royals captain this season. He’s also appeared in three games with the AJHL’s Okotoks Oilers as an affiliate player.
Former Kings forward Nogard reinstated to Atlanta Gladiators roster

Forward Luke Nogard (32 goals, 32 assists in 110 games with Powell River from 2012-14) is no longer with Lausitzer Füchse of the DEL2. He’s been reinstated to the roster of the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators. Nogard has eight goals and six assists in 20 games with the Gladiators this season.
Three Stars of the Night
First Star: Clippers goaltender Jordan Naylor made 37 saves for the shutout.
Second Star: Trail forward Michael Colella had two goals and an assist.
Third Star: Coquitlam goaltender Clay Stevenson stopped 41 shots.
Honourable Mentions: Surrey forward Wyatt Schlaht, Vernon forward Dawson Holt and Wenatchee forward Ethan Wolthers each had a pair of goals. Cowichan Valley goaltender Zach Borgiel kicked out 36 shots. Smoke Eaters forward Kent Johnson and Wenatchee forward Sam Morton each had a goal and two assists. Trail goaltender Logan Terness made 28 saves.
