Bucks acquire Harroch from Humboldt for Lowe

The Cranbrook Bucks have acquired 2001-born goaltender Michael Harroch from the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for 2002-born forward Christian Lowe.

Harroch, who hails from North Vancouver, BC, didn’t get into any games with the Broncos during the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lowe played 14 games for the Bucks as a rookie in 2020-21 and put up a goal and two assists. The Port Moody, BC product had a goal and an assist in eight games with Cranbrook during last fall’s exhibition season.

Vees bring in Maine commit Nadeau

The Penticton Vees have acquired 2003-born forward Josh Nadeau from the Edmundston Blizzard of the Maritime Hockey League for future considerations.

Nadeau, who’s from St-François-de-Madawaska, NB, had 13 goals and 31 points in 15 games with the Blizzard during the 2020-21 season.

Vipers recruit Chan for 2021-22 season

The Vernon Vipers announced the commitment of 2005-born forward Tyler Chan for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.

Chan, who’s a resident of Burnaby, BC, had four goals and seven points in four games with Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League this past season.

He was selected in the 5th round, 100th overall, by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Chan was also chosen by the Chicago Steel in the 10th round, 148th overall, in this year’s US Hockey League Futures Draft.

Lindsey commits to Hobart and William Smith Colleges

Victoria Grizzlies defenseman Reid Lindsay has committed to Hobart and William Smith Colleges to play NCAA Division III hockey for this coming season.

The 2000-born product of Prince Rupert, BC had two goals and nine points in 18 games with the Grizzlies during the 2020-21 pod season.

In 80 games over four seasons with Victoria, Lindsay put up four goals and 23 points.

Silverbacks lose trainer St. Jacques to the WHL’s Vancouver Giants

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are looking for a new trainer and equipment manager after Brodie St. Jacques was hired by the Western Hockey League’s Vancouver Giants.

The 2020-21 pod season was St. Jacques’ second in the BCHL with the Silverbacks. He signed a two-year contract extension with Salmon Arm in May.

Valin takes over as general manager and head coach in Fernie

Tyler Valin (two goals, 15 assists in 95 games with Vernon and Prince George from 1998-2001) is the new head coach of the Fernie Ghostriders of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Valin, a 40-year-old from Peace River, AB, was an assistant coach for the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in 2020-21.

He also spent the last four seasons as head coach of the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers U18 AAA in the Alberta Elite Hockey League U18.

Boily leaves Les Diables Rouges de Valenciennes

Goaltender Émilien Boily (1-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .913 SV% in one game with Penticton in 2015-16) won’t join the Valenciennes Red Devils of FFHG, Division 2 next season after all.

The 23-year-old from Durham-Sud, QC signed a one-year contract extension with Valenciennes in May. He didn’t get into any games with the Red Devils in 2020-21 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
