Grizzlies sign forward de Vries

The Victoria Grizzlies added Stanstead College captain Devon de Vries for the 2020-21 season. De Vries, 18, had 35 goals and 46 assists in 58 games at Stanstead in 2019-20.

The forward was drafted in the ninth round, 148th overall by the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the 2018 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Bucks add another piece in defenceman Morrissey

The Cranbrook Bucks have signed their fifth import player with the addition of 18-year-old defenceman Bauer Morrissey.

Morrissey, from Leesburg, Virginia, had ten goals and 19 assists in 32 games playing US prep hockey with Millbrook School.

First Star: Penticton defenceman Troy Stecher had a goal and an assist in the Vees 4-3 overtime win against Powell River in game three of the 2012 Fred Page Cup final series.

Second Star:Vees forward Travis St. Denis scored the game-tying goal with 17 seconds left in the third period and then assisted on Wade Murphy’s game-winner 5:03 into overtime.

Third Star: Kings forward Cohen Adair posted a pair of goals in the loss.

Honourable Mentions: Penticton forward Joey Benik notched two assists. Kings forward Brendon MacDonald scored an unassisted first period goal.

Brian Wiebe

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
