Bulldogs graduating forward Doolin commits to Sacred Heart

Alberni Valley Bulldogs graduating forward Ryan Doolin is off to Sacred Heart University this September.

Doolin, who committed to Harvard back in 2015, had 19 goals and 33 assists in 57 games with the Bulldogs this past season, his only one in the BCHL.

He is the eighth member of Alberni Valley’s roster to commit to an NCAA school.

Bucks nab Yale commit Gammill

Cranbrook Bucks GM and head coach Ryan Donald continues to look to his alma mater to recruit players. The latest is forward Briggs Gammill.

Gammill, 18, is committed to attend Yale University in the fall of 2021.

He posted 25 goals and 20 assists in 29 games in 2019-20 playing US high school prep hockey with Berkshire School.

Clippers add New York product Devereaux

The Nanaimo Clippers have recruited forward Elijah Deveraux for next season.

The 18-year-old from Webster, New York had two goals and four assists in 12 games for Northwood School U18 in the US Prospects Hockey U18 League.

He spent the bulk of his season playing US prep school hockey for Northwood School Junior out of Lake Placid, New York.

Three Stars of the Night ⏪ April 8, 2007

First Star: Nanaimo forward Tyler Mazzei scored two goals in the Clippers 4-3 win over Vernon in game one of the 2007 Fred Page Cup final series.

Second Star: Vipers forward Justin Brossman had a pair of goals in the losing cause.

Third Star: Clippers defenceman Matt Irwin posted the first goal of the game for Nanaimo with two seconds left in the first period.

Honourable Mentions: Vernon defenceman Drew Muench notched a pair of assists.

 

Brian Wiebe

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
