Bucks unveil green jersey design

The Cranbrook Bucks, who are set to make their BCHL debut in the 2020-21 season, unveiled their dark set of jerseys on Thursday. The Bucks have a colour scheme that is green, silver, and white.

Campbell named to All-USHL First Team

Forward Alex Campbell (21 goals, 46 assists in 53 games with Victoria in 2018-19) has been named to the All-USHL first team. He posted 18 goals and 39 assists in 46 games this past season with the Omaha Lancers.

Campbell was selected by Nashville in the third round of last year’s NHL Entry Draft and also won the 2019 BCHL rookie of the year award. He is committed to attend Clarkson University this fall.

Ward transfers to University of New Hampshire

Forward Tyler Ward (31 goals, 26 assists in 86 games with Merritt from 2015-17) has transferred NCAA schools, going from the University of Denver to the University of New Hampshire.

Ward will have to sit out a transfer year in 2020-21, but will play for UNH starting with the 2021-22 season. He had 15 goals and 19 assists in 74 games with Denver over the last two seasons.

Chiefs alumni named to Holy Cross leadership group

Defenceman Matt Slick (four goals, eight assists in 58 games with Chilliwack in 2017-18) and forward Anthony Vincent (12 goals, 25 assists in 79 games with Chilliwack from 2016-18) have been named to the leadership group for College of the Holy Cross for 2020-21.

Slick will serve as co-captain next season for Holy Cross after putting up three goals and seven assists in 34 games in 2019-20.

Vincent returns in his role as an assistant captain. He had four goals and seven assists in 21 NCAA games this past season.

Latta transfers to University of Massachusetts Lowell

Forward Josh Latta (37 goals, 43 assists in 135 games with Prince George, Salmon Arm, and Vernon from 2015-18) will transfer from the University of Alabama-Huntsville to the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

He may be eligible to join the RiverHawks this fall, or he may have to sit out an NCAA transfer year. Latta led UNH in scoring in 2019-20 with seven goals and 11 assists in 32 games.

First Star: Chilliwack defenceman Carver Watson scored the winning goal in overtime as the Chiefs forced game seven in the 2017 Fred Page Cup final series with a 3-2 victory over Penticton.

Second Star: Chiefs forward Jordan Kawaguchi had two assists in the win, including setting up Watson’s OT winner.

Third Star: Vees forward Owen Sillinger scored in the second period to give Penticton a 2-0 lead.

Honourable Mentions: Chiefs blueliner Davis Bunz‘s goal at 2:21 of the third period started Chilliwack’s comeback. Vees forward Grant Cruikshank opened the scoring in the first period.
