The Trail Smoke Eaters advanced to the second round of the BCHL playoffs for the fourth straight season after a 3-1 game four win over the Prince George Spruce Kings. The victory secured a series sweep for the Smoke Eaters over the defending Fred Page Cup champion Spruce Kings.

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks moved past the first round of the BCHL playoffs for the first time since 2010-11 with a 3-2 game four win over the Victoria Grizzlies. The Silverbacks were the third seed in the Interior Division while Grizzlies were the second wild card team. As a result, Victoria crossed over to face the third place team in the Interior.
Former Chiefs blueliner Cholowski sent down to the AHL

Defenceman Dennis Cholowski (16 goals, 51 assists in 106 games with Chilliwack from 2014-16) has been sent down to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL by the Detroit Red Wings.
Cholowski, who was chosen 20th overall by Detroit in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, has three goals and nine assists in 27 games with the Griffins and two goals and six assists in 36 games with the Red Wings this season.

The Vancouver Canucks have reassigned defenceman Josh Teves (five goals, 28 assists in 57 games with Merritt in 2014-15) from the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL to the Utica Comets of the AHL.
Teves has two assists in 26 games with the Comets this season. He’s also added two goals and two assists in four games with the Wings.

Goaltender Jamie Phillips (16-6-1, 2.01 GAA, .921 SV%, 5 shutouts in 26 games with Powell River in 2011-12) has been traded in the ECHL from the Cincinnati Cyclones to the Brampton Beast.
Phillips is 4-3-0 with a 3.18 GAA, an .882 SV% and one shutout in seven games with the Cyclones this season.
Three Stars of the Night
First Star: Powell River netminder Derek Krall kicked out 41 shots.
Second Star: West Kelowna goaltender Johnny Derrick stopped 38 shots.
Third Star: Trail defenceman Jameson Murray scored a pair of goals.
Honourable Mentions: Salmon Arm forward Kieran Ruscheinski posted the winning goal for the Silverbacks. Nanaimo defenceman Aiden Hansen-Bukata, Vernon captain Connor Marritt, Powell River forward Jack Long, and Surrey forward Gabe Schovanek each potted a goal and an assist. Coquitlam forward Joshua Wildauer and Langley forward Matthew Hubbarde each notched two goals. Victoria forward Cody Monds tallied two assists.
