Vees win 2023 Fred Page Cup

The Penticton Vees are the 2023 Fred Page Cup champions. The Vees continue to add to the record book as they pad their total of most BCHL titles ever to 14, two more than Vernon’s 12 championships. For Penticton president, general manager, and head coach Fred Harbinson, it’s his sixth career BCHL crown since joining the Vees 16 years ago.

On Wednesday, this year’s championship was secured with a convincing 4-1 victory over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in game four. 2005-born Vees forward Bradly Nadeau earned the Jeff Tambellini Trophy as BCHL playoff MVP after tallying 17 goals and 18 assists in 17 games. The St-François-de-Madawaska, N.B. product is the top-ranked BCHL player for next month’s NHL Draft.

The Vees finished the playoffs at 16-0-1 and between this year and last year, have won 32 out of their previous 34 playoff games. Penticton went 43-8-3 in 2021-22 before tacking on a 50-3-1 record this past season. All told the Vees are 125-12-5 in their last 142 combined regular season and playoff games.
