BCHL Bulletin: Brodzinski back in Hartford for 2022-23, Burman bolts to the UK, and more!

Brodzinski signs with Hartford for 2022-23

The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League announced on Tuesday that they have signed 25-year-old forward Easton Brodzinski (32 goals, 34 assists in 54 games with Penticton in 2015-16) to a contract for the 2022-23 season.

The Blaine, MN product turned pro with the Wolf Pack this past April after five NCAA seasons at St. Cloud State University. in 176 games at St. Cloud, he posted 67 goals and 125 points.

Burman goes pro with Guildford of the EIHL

Goaltender Taz Burman (21-11-0, 2.60 goals-against average, .916 save percentage, one shutout in 35 games with Nanaimo in 2017-18) has signed a deal for the upcoming season with the Guildford Flames of the Elite Ice Hockey League in the UK.

The Vancouver, BC native played the last four seasons in USPORTS, first with the University of Lethbridge and then the University of Alberta. He finishes with a 12-16-2 record, a 3.58 goals-against average, and one shutout in 37 career USPORTS games.

Desbiens signs a deal in France’s top league

26-year-old forward Jonathan Desbiens (71 goals, 66 assists in 112 games with the West Kelowna Warriors from 2014-16) of Rosemere, QC has signed with Amiens of Ligue Magnus, which is the top league in France.

In 28 games with Mulhouse in 2021-22, he notched 12 goals and 30 points. Desbiens also got into seven games with the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL this past season and put up four points. He also played one game with the Maine Mariners.

Luedtke won’t return to Cholet next season

Cholet of the French Ice Hockey Federation Division 1 announced on Tuesday that forward Jeremiah Luedtke (41 goals, 103 assists in 164 games with Prince George from 2012-15) won’t return to the team in 2022-23. FFHG Division 1 is the second tier of pro hockey in France.

The 27-year-old from Seattle, WA had 16 goals and 35 points in 23 games as an alternate captain with Cholet during the 2021-22 season, his second with the Dogs.

Saurauer inks an extension with Fehérvár AV19

Forward Andrew Sarauer (54 goals, 49 assists in 114 games with Victoria and Langley from 2002-04) has signed a contract extension for 2022-23 with Fehérvár AV19 of ICE Hockey League, which is the top tier of hockey in Austria.

Sarauer, 37, has played with Fehérvár AV19 for eight of the past nine seasons and posted 13 goals and 29 points in 47 games with the club in 2021-22. The Saskatoon, SK native has dual Canadian-Hungarian citizenship.

Ginnetti moves from Asiago to Bolzano

Defender Cameron Ginnetti (12 goals, 58 assists in 110 games with Langley from 2014-17) has signed a deal with HC Bolzano of the ICEHL for 2022-23.

In 2021-22, the 24-year-old blueliner from Vancouver, BC scored three goals and 30 points in 42 games with Asiago of the Alps Hockey League, which is made up of teams from Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.

Lee leaves the ECHL to sign in Slovakia

Blueliner Mike Lee (two goals, 34 assists in 56 games with Penticton in 2014-15) will join HC Nove Zamky of Slovakia’s Tipos Extraliga for this upcoming season.

As an ECHL sophomore in 2021-22, the 26-year-old Hamden, CT product posted 14 goals and 48 points in 64 games split between the Indy Fuel and Kansas City Mavericks. Lee also got into three American Hockey League games with Hartford.

Rivermen bring Guardiero back for 2022-23

The Langley Rivermen have brought McKenzie Guardiero back as their communications and digital media coordinator for 2022-23.

Guardiero joined BCHLNetwork in June 2019 as the Rivermen writer and left the website in October 2020. The entire BCHLNetwork team is proud of Mac and wishes him the best of luck working with the Rivermen once again this season.
