The Langley Rivermen have acquired 2003-born defenseman Josh Wessels from the Powell River Kings for future considerations.
Wessels, who’s from Richmond, BC, had five assists in 18 games with the Kings in the 2020-21 BCHL season in the Coquitlam pod.
In 2019-20 with Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League, he posted eight goals and 25 points in 34 games while being coached by former Langley and Vernon forward Mike Santorelli.
Wessels was drafted by the Kamloops Blazers in the eighth round, 159th overall, in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
