Nanaimo Clippers cleared to return to team activities following COVID-related pause

The Nanaimo Clippers have been cleared by the BC Hockey League to resume team activities after a potential positive COVID-19 test within the team was deemed to be negative.

The Clippers had Thursday’s game against Alberni Valley postponed, pending further analysis of the result. It was the first game to be postponed for virus-related reasons since the BCHL pod-based season started on Apr. 2.

Nanaimo played Tuesday night against the Cowichan Valley at the Weyerhaeuser Arena in Port Alberni, which is home to the Clippers, Capitals, Bulldogs, and Victoria Grizzlies as a four-team pod for the 2020-21 BCHL season.

Nanaimo’s next game is set for Saturday against Victoria at 1 pm. The Clippers have a 4-2-0 record so far this season.
