Clippers acquire Edwards from Drumheller of the AJHL for Barlow and future considerations

 

The Nanaimo Clippers have acquired 2002-born defenseman Jordan Edwards from the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for 2002-born defenseman Chase Barlow and future considerations.

Edwards, who’s from Saskatoon, SK, played seven games for the Dragons in 2020-21, finishing with 54 penalty minutes. He had four assists in 2019-20 with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes 18U AAA of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey 18U League.

He played the prior two seasons with the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League and tallied 32 points in 85 games.

Barlow hails from Victoria, BC and he had one assist in 20 games for the Clippers during the BCHL’s pod season. He played one game for Grande Prairie of the AJHL in November before joining Nanaimo.

He spent the majority of the 2019-20 season with the South Island Royals U18 AAA and finished with 11 points in 38 games. Barlow made his BCHL debut that season as well, getting into four games with the Victoria Grizzlies as an affiliate player.
