The Cowichan Valley Capitals have acquired 2001-born forward Joey Moffatt from the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for future considerations.
Moffatt, who’s from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, is a proven junior A scorer. He put up 70 goals and 157 points in 163 games with the Terriers from 2017-20.
Despite Portage going 0-4 at the 2019 National Junior A Championship, Moffatt tied for fourth overall in tournament scoring with a goal and four points in four games.
He had a goal in five games with the Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League this season before being released on Nov. 18.
