Wild bring in Troumbly for 2021-22

The Wenatchee Wild have signed St. Cloud State University commit, 2001-born forward, Ben Troumbly for the 2021-22 season.

The native of Bovey, MN posted six goals and 19 points in 53 games with the Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League. He is set to attend St. Cloud State in September 2022.

Fitzgerald to attend Leafs’ development camp

The Cranbrook Bucks announced the signing of 2005-born forward Luke Pfoh of Port Moody, BC for the upcoming season.

Pfoh played with Burnaby Winter Club U16 of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League in 2020-21 and posted four goals and one assist in five games.

Spruce Kings unveil details for 50th anniversary

The Prince George Spruce Kings released details of their 50th anniversary season for 2021-22 on Thursday. Included in the celebrations is a new logo, a line of anniversary-branded merchandise in addition to the unveiling of four jerseys that will be worn on “Decade Nights” during the season.

Eagles forward Slipec commits to the University of Nebraska-Omaha

Surrey Eagles 2001-born forward Jacob Slipec has committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The product of White Rock, BC notched 11 goals and 14 points in 17 games with the Eagles during the 2020-21 pod season. He added nine goals and 34 points in 94 games with Powell River and Chilliwack from 2018-20.

Crookshank hits development camp with Ottawa

Forward Angus Crookshank (32 goals, 35 assists in 77 games with Langley from 2016-18) is in development camp with the Ottawa Senators. The North Vancouver, BC product signed his first National Hockey League contract with the Ottawa Senators in March.

This past season, Crookshank signed an amateur tryout agreement with the American Hockey League’s Belleville Senators and posted five goals and 16 points in 19 games. The 21-year-old also had nine goals and 18 points in 20 games in 2020-21 with the University of New Hampshire.

Perepeluk inks a contract with Stockton of the AHL

Yorkton, SK product Reid Perepeluk (no points in three games with Prince George in 2017-18) has signed with the Stockton Heat of the AHL for 2021-22.

The 21-year-old forward had 14 goals and 31 points in 140 Western Hockey League games with the Prince George Cougars and Brandon Wheat Kings over the last four seasons.

Yan heads to China to play in the KHL

2000-born forward Eddie Yan has turned pro with the Kunlun Red Star of the Kontinental Hockey League. The Toronto, ON native had six goals and 19 points in 20 games with the Victoria Grizzlies in 2020-21.

Yan, who played 10 games for the Chinese national U20 team over the last two seasons, finishes his BCHL career with 16 goals and 40 points in 88 games with Victoria.

Siso returns to the Storm for 2021-22

Forward Max Coatta (15 goals, 17 assists in 50 games with Penticton in 2013-14) has signed with Rapid City of the ECHL. Coatta, a 26-year-old from Minnetonka, MN, had 14 points in 13 games with Tyringe SoSS of HockeyEttan in 2020-21. HockeyEttan is the third tier of pro hockey in Sweden.

Spruce Kings make a broadcast deal with Rewind Radio

The Prince George Spruce Kings announced a partnership with 99.3 Rewind Radio, which is owned by Pattison Media, to broadcast 10 games during the 2021-22 season on the radio, starting with a road game in West Kelowna on Oct. 9.
