Langley gets commitment from UConn-bound D’Agostino

The Langley Rivermen announced their second commitment in as many days on Sunday with the addition of forward Mark D’Agostino for 2020-21.

The 18-year-old from North Branford, Connecticut had 23 goals and 32 assists in 35 games with The Gunnery prep school. He also played six games with the Yale Jr. Bulldogs U18 and put up a goal and two assists.

D’Agostino, who was chosen in the 12th round, 196th overall by the Waterloo Black Hawks in the 2018 USHL Entry Draft, is committed to attend the University of Connecticut in the fall of 2021.

Three Stars of the Night ⏪ April 6, 2012

First Star: Penticton forward Travis St. Denis had a goal and an assist as the Vees beat Powell River 3-1 in game one of the Fred Page Cup final series.

Second Star: Vees goaltender Chad Katunar made 42 saves in the win, including 15 in the second period.

Third Star: Penticton forward Logan Johnston scored the winning goal for the Vees on a power play in the first period.

Honourable Mentions: Powell River forward Daniel Schuler had the lone goal for the Kings. Vees forward Joey Benik scored the game’s opening goal. Kings goaltender Sean Maguire stopped 25 shots.

Brian Wiebe

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
