The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have added 2001-born defenseman Mitchell Brown to their roster on loan from the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.
The loan, which runs until December 20, sees the Salmon Arm product join his hometown team. He played one game with the Silverbacks as an affiliate player back in 2016-17.
Brown has played 136 WHL games for the Ams over the last three seasons, putting up 29 points and 115 penalty minutes. He was an alternate captain for Tri-City in 2019-20.
Kings bring in van de Leest from the Calgary Hitmen

The Powell River Kings inked 2001-born defenseman Jackson van de Leest on loan from the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen. He is expected to be with the Kings until December 20.
The Kelowna native has 55 points in 174 games for the Hitmen over the past four seasons. He’s also appeared in 14 WHL playoff games.
Van de Leest actually made his BCHL debut in 2016-17, playing five games with Penticton as an affiliate player. He didn’t score any points.
Floris commits to Trail for 2020-21

The Smoke Eaters haven’t confirmed it, but the Cariboo Cougars of the BC U18 AAA League announced on Tuesday that 2002-born defenseman Ethan Floris has committed to Trail for the 2020-21 season.
Floris is from Vanderhoof, BC. He posted 34 points in 107 BC U18 AAA games with the Cougars and the South Island Royals over the last three seasons.
Clippers defenseman Fairbrother suspended two games
Nanaimo Clippers defenseman Gianni Fairbrother has been suspended for two games for receiving a major penalty and game misconduct for a blow to the head during Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Victoria.
The 2000-born blueliner, who is on loan to the Clippers from the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, was assessed the penalties at the 20-minute mark of the third period.
The 2019 Montreal Canadiens’ 3rd round pick is required to sit out this Friday’s and next Tuesday’s games in Alberni Valley against the Bulldogs. Fairbrother is eligible to return to the Clippers line-up on Remembrance Day at home against Victoria.

Forward Evan Trupp (49 goals, 80 assists in 94 games with Penticton from 2005-07) has signed with Dresdner Eislöwen of the DEL2, which is the second tier of pro hockey in Germany.
The 33-year-old from Anchorage, Alaska, had seven points in 11 games with Dornbirner EC of the Austrian Hockey League during the 2019-20 season, his fourth overseas.
