Alberni Valley Bulldogs rookie forward Brandon Buhr has committed to Clarkson University starting in September 2022. Buhr, 18, has six goals and three assists through 12 games during the extended training camp this season.
He played with the West Van Academy Prep team in 2019-20 and posted 33 goals and 38 assists in 34 games.
The Burnaby product added one assist in three games with the West Kelowna Warriors as an affiliate player. He also got into three playoff games with the Warriors and had one assist.
Buhr played one BCHL game in 2018-19 with Coquitlam as an AP. He committed to the Nanaimo Clippers in April 2019 but returned to U18 AAA instead.

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed 2001-born goaltender Cole Schewbius on loan from the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.
Schwebius, who is from Kelowna, was loaned by the Rockets to the West Kelowna Warriors in an emergency situation last month. He played a home game against Vernon on October 24 and made 37 saves in a 4-3 overtime win.
Schwebius played 38 games in the WHL over the last two seasons with a 12-19-2 record, a 3.72 goals-against-average, a .892 save percentage, and one shutout.

Forward Owen Sillinger (66 goals, 87 assists in 171 games with Penticton from 2015-18) has been named to the media pre-season all WCHA team.
The 23-year-old is entering his third NCAA season at Bemidji State University in 2020-21. He has 53 points in 75 games with the Beavers over the last two seasons.
Rutherford parts ways with Briançon
Forward David Rutherford (27 goals, 32 assists in 60 games with Penticton, Chilliwack, and Surrey from 2003-05) has parted ways with Briançon of Ligue Magnus, which is the highest level of pro hockey in France.
The 33-year-old Ladnerite had a goal in three games with the Red Devils. He’s played overseas for the last five seasons and notched 12 points in 10 games with Debreceni Egyetem Atlétikai Club of Erste Liga in Hungary during 2019-20.
