Clippers send Morozoff to Humboldt
The Nanaimo Clippers have traded 2001-born forward Alex Morozoff to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.
Morozoff, who’s from Saskatoon, SK, had one goal in six games for the Clippers this season. He is a veteran of 172 Western Hockey League games with Red Deer, Seattle, and Saskatoon.
Messineo commits to the UConn Huskies for next fall
2002-born Chilliwack Chiefs defenseman Thomas Messineo, who hails from Westwood, MA, has committed to the University of Connecticut for the fall of 2022.
Messineo is a rookie with the Chiefs this season after not playing in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 11 games with Chilliwack, he had a goal and six assists.
Vipers recruit Tardif for the 2022-23 season
The Vernon Vipers announced the commitment of 2004-born forward Ludovik Tardif for the 2022-23 BC Hockey League season on Tuesday.
Tardif hails from Quebec City, QC, and is playing this season with Upper Canada College of the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Chiefs bring in Bachler for 2022-23
The Chilliwack Chiefs announced the commitment of 2005-born forward Darius Bachler for the 2022-23 BC Hockey League season.
The Langley, BC native is with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U18 of BC Elite Hockey League this season. In 14 games with the T-Birds, he has five goals and a dozen points.
Avs bring Newhook up from the American Hockey League
The Colorado Avalanche announced on Tuesday that it has recalled forward Alex Newhook (60 goals, 108 assists in 98 games with Victoria from 2017-19) from the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League.
The 20-year-old from St. John’s, NL, has four goals and 11 points in 10 games with the Eagles this season. He’s also played one game with the Avs.
IceHogs assign Howarth to Indy of the ECHL
Forward Kale Howarth (66 goals, 80 assists in 148 games with Trail from 2015-18) has been loaned by the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.
Howarth hasn’t appeared in any games with the IceHogs this season but made his first appearance with the Fuel on Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout loss to Cincinnati.
Cuglietta traded from Indy to Greenville in the ECHL
Forward Diego Cuglietta (40 goals, 88 assists in 149 games for Merritt from 2012-15) was traded in the ECHL from the Indy Fuel to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for future considerations on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old from Kamloops, BC played five games with the Fuel this season but didn’t put up any points. He is a veteran of 65 ECHL games over the last three seasons, posting 35 points during that time.
