BC Hockey Hall of Fame cancels induction dinner

Much like so many other events this year, the British Columbia Hockey Hall of Fame has cancelled its 2020 induction dinner, set for July 24 in Penticton, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2012 Penticton Vees, who went 74-10-0-2 including the BCHL playoffs, Doyle Cup series and RBC Cup tournament, will be inducted in the team category.

Three Stars of the Night ⏪ May 11, 2014

First Star: Carleton Place forward Luke Edwards had two assists as the Canadians beat Vernon 3-2 in the second game of the preliminary round at the 2014 RBC Cup.

Second Star: Canadians forward Vinny Post scored the winning goal with 4:28 left in the third period.

Third Star: Vipers forward Demico Hannoun had Vernon’s second goal of the game shorthanded 8:11 into the third period.

Honourable Mentions: Carleton Place goaltender Guillaume Therien made 25 saves, including 11 in the final period. Vernon forward Colton Sparrow scored an unassisted shorthanded goal in the second period.

Brian Wiebe

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
