Clippers add veteran defenseman Gill

The Nanaimo Clippers added another veteran to their blueline corps on Thursday with the acquisition of 2000-born defenseman Kabir Gill from the Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Gill, who’s from White Rock, BC, split the 2019-20 season between the Red Wings and the Coquitlam Express. In 37 games, he finished with three goals and six assists.

Rivermen forward Scoville commits to Alabama-Huntsville

Langley Rivermen forward Brian Scoville has committed to attend the University of Alabama-Huntsville for this fall.

The 1999-born forward had four goals and 27 assists in 100 games for the Rivermen over the last two seasons.

Cents announce summer camp

The Merritt Centennials announced details of their summer camp on Thursday. The Cents, like all BCHL clubs, were forced to cancel spring camps due to COVID-19.

The summer ID camp is July 17 – 19 at the Summit Ice Centre in Abbotsford, BC.

Chiefs unveil summer camps

The Chilliwack Chiefs released details on their summer camps on Thursday. Among those announced is the Chiefs prospects ID skill development camp at the Chilliwack Coliseum from July 24 – 26 for players born between 2003 and 2006.

BCIHL postpones start of 2020-21 season

The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League has delayed the start of its 2020-21 regular season until at least January 15, 2021.

The BCIHL is a four-team league whose members are Selkirk College, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria, and Vancouver Island University.

The lone BCHL player committed to a BCIHL school for this fall is 1999-born Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Jackson Doucet. He is set to attend Selkirk College in September.
