Vipers add Rampton for 2021-22

The Vernon Vipers announced the addition of 2004-born forward Greye Rampton for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.

Rampton, who’s from Chilliwack, BC, had three goals and three assists in five games with Yale Hockey Academy U17 Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League in 2020-21.

He put up 14 points in 34 games with the Yale Academy Elite 15s in 2019-20.

Drapeau commits to the University of Victoria

2000-born Powell River Kings goaltender Jakob Drapeau has committed to the University of Victoria to play in the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League in 2021-22.

The Prince George, BC product was 3-4-0 with a 4.48 goals-against-average and an .854 save percentage in 10 games with the Kings during the 2020-21 pod season.

Jost inks an extension with the Avs

Forward Tyson Jost (65 goals, 84 assists in 97 games with Penticton from 2014-16) has signed a two-year contract extension with the Colorado Avalanche worth $2 million per season.

Jost, 23, had seven goals and 17 points in 54 games with Colorado in 2020-21. Through 262 career NHL games with the Avalanche, the St. Albert, AB product has 39 goals and 89 points.

Dalpe signs with the Panthers

Forward Zac Dalpe (27 goals and 36 assists in 46 games with Penticton in 2007-08) signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.

The 31-year-old from Paris, ON had two goals and one assist in a dozen games with Columbus this past season as well as four points in five games with the American Hockey League’s Cleveland Monsters.

Rudrud returns to the Wild coaching staff

The Wenatchee Wild will be welcoming back a familiar face for the 2021-22 season in Tom Rudrud.

The Wenatchee Wild announce the addition of Tom Rudrud to the team as associate coach to head coach Chris Clark.

The Bloomington, MN product had the same role with the Wild from 2012 to 2017, including three seasons in the North American Hockey League, and two seasons in the BCHL.

Rudrud, 60, has 27 years of experience coaching at the junior or college level.
