Legault returns to West Kelowna for 2021-22

The BC Hockey League is doing a series on NHL Draft eligible players leading up to the draft on July 23-24.

Included in that series is 2003-born Lincoln Stars defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault. It was revealed in the story that Legault is playing for the West Kelowna Warriors in 2021-22.

The native of Pierrefonds, QC was with the Warriors during the exhibition season last fall, playing 10 games and posting four points.

He joined the Stars in January and notched five points in 23 US Hockey League games. Legault was committed to Boston University for this fall, but that’s been deferred to Sept. 2022.

Vees bring in UND commit Montgomery

The Penticton Vees announced the commitment of 2002-born forward Dane Montgomery for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.

The product of Grand Forks, ND is committed to the University of North Dakota for Sept. 2022. He had eight goals and 23 points in 28 games with the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks.

In 68 games with the Black Hawks over the previous two seasons, Montgomery added nine goals and 19 points.

Torzsok commits to Simon Fraser University

Prince George Spruce Kings forward Hunor Torzsok has committed to Simon Fraser University of the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League for 2021-22.

The 2000-born left wing from Budapest, HUN had three goals and nine points in 17 games with the Spruce Kings in 2020-21.

Clippers add Parker as athletic therapist

The Nanaimo Clippers announced the hiring of Kelly Parker as the team’s athletic therapist for 2021-22 on Thursday.

Parker is from Manitoba and was the safety person for the Vincent Massey Collegiate team in the Winnipeg High School Hockey League AAAA in 2019-20.

She takes over in Nanaimo from Gaelle Bergeron, who joined the Coquitlam Express earlier this off-season.

Centennials delay golf tournament

The Merritt Centennials announced on Thursday that they have postponed their golf tournament from July 24 to Sept. 11.

According to a news release, the Cents made the change to “better provide our many supporters with a more complete golfing experience”.
