The Nanaimo Clippers continue to bring in local players with Thursday’s addition of 2004-born forward Luke Lavery for the 2020-21 season.
He started the season with the North Island Silvertips U18 AAA and had a goal and four assists in two games before the COVID-19 pause.
Lavery notched 16 points in 38 games as a 15-year-old for the Silvertips in 2019-20.

The Wenatchee Wild solidified its crease on Thursday with a commitment from 2003-born netminder Andy Vlaha for the 2021-22 season.
Vlaha, who’s from Snohomish, Washington, recently joined the Utica Jr. Comets of the National Collegiate Development Conference. He is winless in two games with the Comets and posted a 3.50 goals-against-average and a .936 save percentage.
He played 43 seconds in a Wild game against Salmon Arm as an affiliate player in 2019-20 and gave up one goal.
Vipers add Porter Jr. to their active roster
2000-born goaltender James Porter Jr. is now on the roster of the Vernon Vipers.

The Vernon Vipers have added 2000-born goaltender James Porter Jr. to their active roster.
Porter, who was released by the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League just under a month ago, had a 3-6-0 record, a 2.59 GAA, a .922 SV%, and one shutout in nine games with Vernon in 2019-20.
The Bonners Ferry, Idaho native was also 8-2-0 with a 1.94 GAA, a .923 SV%, and two shutouts in 10 games with Spokane in 2019-20.
He is a veteran of 82 WHL games with the Chiefs and the Kelowna Rockets between 2017 and this past season.

Goaltender Billy Christopoulos (22-22-0, 3.05 GAA, .906 SV%, 3 SO with Alberni Valley in 2014-15) has signed a contract for this season with the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.
He spent most of the 2019-20 season with the Toledo Walleye and posted a sparkling 23-3-3 record along with a 2.30 GAA, a .932 SV%, and one shutout.

Goaltender Sean Bonar (38-15-0, 2.60 GAA, .908 SV%, 6 SO in 59 games with Penticton from 2008-10) has signed a pro tryout with the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.
In five games with the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL this season, the 29-year-old from Delta, BC is 0-4-1 with a 4.14 GAA and a .866 save percentage.

Forward Luke Nogard (32 goals, 32 assists in 110 games with Powell River from 2012-14) has signed a contract for the 2020-21 season with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
The Mississauga, Ontario product started 2019-20 with the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators before joining Lausitzer Füchse of the DEL2.
He then returned to Atlanta after eight games in Germany and finished the season with 22 points in 30 ECHL games.
