BCHL Today: Express rookie Tattle out for two more weeks, full face shields might come to the BCHL, and more

Express forward Tattle to miss at least two more weeks

Coquitlam Express forward Ryan Tattle is on the shelf until well into the new year. The Express extended Tattle’s injured reserve status by 15 days on Saturday. He is now eligible to return on Jan. 5. Tattle was first put on the 30 day injured reserve on Nov. 5. The Port Moody native has 2 goals and 11 assists in 17 games with the Express as a rookie this season.

Could full face shields come to the BCHL?

BCIT Broadcast and Online Journalism student Caden Fanshaw and a group of classmates has produced a story looking into the impact of full face shields being implemented in junior B hockey in BC.

One key thing from the story is that it states there has been discussion about full shields at the junior A level. The players are the same age as in junior B, so it may not be a case of if – but when – full shields are instituted in the Canadian Junior Hockey League.
