The Nanaimo Clippers amended a first round loss last year with a 2-1 win on Thursday night for a sweep of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. The Clippers won the first two games by identical 6-3 scores and games three and four were decided by one goal each as the Bulldogs put up a fight.
Nanaimo will face the winner of the Cowichan Valley-Powell River series in the Island Division final. The Clippers last went to the division final in 2016.

Forward Alex Newhook (60 goals, 108 assists in 98 games with Victoria from 2017-19) has been named the Hockey Commissioners Association National Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month for February. Newhook posted 20 points in nine games during the month.
The 2019 Colorado Avalanche first round draft pick has 19 goals and 21 assists in 32 games as a freshman at Boston College this season.

First Star: Chilliwack forward Brett Willits scored two goals and an assist.
Second Star: Nanaimo captain Ethan Scardina chipped in a goal and an assist.
Third Star: Chiefs goaltender Mathieu Caron kicked out 28 saves for his second shutout of the first round.
Honourable Mentions: Alberni Valley goaltender Luke Pearson stopped 36 shots. Clippers forward Kyler Kovich notched two assists. Chilliwack forward Kyle Penney had a goal and an assist.
