The Cowichan Valley Capitals have added 2002-born forward and Cornell University commit Aidan Cobb ahead of the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.
Cobb, who’s from Ridgefield, CT, had three goals and nine points in 44 games with the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League in 2020-21. He was chosen by Tri-City in the 17th round of the 2020 US Hockey League Entry Draft.
He heads to Cornell to start his NCAA Division I hockey career in September 2022.
Rivermen acquire Nagra from Milton
The Rivermen have acquired defenseman Deven Nagra from the Milton Menace of the OJHL in exchange for future considerations.

The Langley Rivermen announced the acquisition of 2003-born defenseman Deven Nagra from the Milton Menace of the Ontario Junior Hockey League on Friday evening.
The native of Vaughan, ON didn’t play in 2020-21 due to COVID-19 restrictions but posted three goals and 17 points in 54 games with the Menace as a rookie in 2019-20. The Rivermen gave up future considerations in the deal.

The Powell River Kings picked up future considerations from the Melfort Mustangs of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for 2002-born defenseman Hayden Tuba.
Tuba hails from Richmond, BC, and was traded to Powell River by Surrey on June 6. He had two assists in 13 games as a rookie with the Eagles in 2020-21.

The University of Michigan Wolverines men’s hockey team announced on Friday that forward Kent Johnson (61 goals and 86 assists in 112 games with Trail from 2018-20) returns as a freshman for the 2021-22 NCAA season.
Johnson, an 18-year-old from Port Moody, BC, had nine goals and 27 points in 26 games for Michigan this past season. He was selected fifth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets during the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft last month.

24-year-old forward Ryan Murphy (11 goals, 17 assists in 83 games with Trail from 2016-18) has signed with ERSC Amberg of Regionalliga, which is the fourth tier of pro hockey in Germany.
The product of Wayzata, MN had 12 points in 20 games with Sollentuna HC of HockeyEttan and six points in three games with Fagersta AIK of Division 2 in 2020-21. Both leagues are in Sweden.

ForwardΒ Patrick Newell (16 goals, 31 assists in 56 games with Penticton in 2014-15) signed a deal for 2021-22 with Stjernen of Norway’s Fjordkraft-ligaen.
The 25-year-old from Thousand Oaks, CA had five goals and 13 points in 24 games with Hartford of the American Hockey League this past season.
Milan makes his way to Halmstad
North Vancouver, BC native Garrett Milan (67 goals, 88 assists in 177 games with Burnaby and Penticton from 2008-11) signed a contract with Halmstad Hammers HC of HockeyEttan, the third tier of Swedish pro hockey.
In 39 games as captain with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League in 2020-21, the 30-year-old forward notched nine goals and 30 points.

For the first time in his career, goaltender Kevin Boyle (20-15-1, 2.99 goals-against-average, .903 save percentage, one shutout in 39 games with Westside in 2010-11) will play in Europe after signing with HC Bolzano of the ICE Hockey League.
The 29-year-old from Manalapan Township, NJ went 7-3-1 with a 2.89 goals-against-average and an .883 save percentage in 12 games with Grand Rapids of the AHL during the 2020-21 season.

ForwardΒ Charlie Combs (66 goals, 46 assists in 86 games with Wenatchee from 2015-17) has signed a contract with the Dundee Stars of the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League for the upcoming season.
Combs, a 25-year-old from St. Louis, MO, played his final year of college hockey at Michigan State University this past season, where he had six goals and 10 points in 23 games. He signed a contract with the Wichita Thunder in March and finished with five points in 17 ECHL games.
