Spruce Kings hire Lukas Lomicky as associate coach

The Prince George Spruce Kings on Monday announced the hiring of Lukas Lomicky as an associate coach to Alex Evin. Lomicky, who’s been a member of the junior B Revelstoke Grizzlies coaching staff since 2017-18, led them to a 39-6-4 record this past season as head coach.

Forward Austin Plevy (65 goals, 109 assists in 204 games with Langley and Chilliwack from 2010-14) was named Southern Professional Hockey League MVP on Friday.
Plevy, 25, led the SPHL in scoring this past season with 17 goals and 48 assists in 45 games.
University of Lethbridge shuts down hockey program

After cuts from the provincial government, the University of Lethbridge has discontinued its men’s and women’s hockey programs.
The men’s roster includes a number of BCHL alumni:
- Danny Gatenby (Nanaimo Clippers)
- Torrin White (Langley Rivermen)
- Cameron Trott (Vernon Vipers)
- Taz Burman (Nanaimo Clippers)
Coomes signs in France for 2020-21

Forward Logan Coomes (no points in 18 games with Coquitlam in 2014-15) has signed with Marseille of Division 1, which is the second level of hockey in France.
Coomes wrapped up his four year NCAA career with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in 2019-20 and posted two goals and one assist in 23 games.

First Star: Surrey forward Adam Tambellini scored the double-overtime winner and added an assist as the Eagles beat Penticton 3-2 in game six to claim the 2013 Fred Page Cup.
Second Star: Eagles forward Michael Stenerson had two assists in the win.
Third Star: Surrey goaltender Michael Santaguida stopped 44 shots.
Honourable Mentions: Penticton forward Michael Rebry scored the game tying goal with 24 seconds left in the third period. Vees goaltender Chad Katunar made 35 saves. Eagles forward Brett Mulcahy opened the scoring 1:55 into the first period.
