The Merritt Centennials announced the recruitment of 2003-born defenseman Joe Fleming for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.
Fleming, who’s from Wellesley, Massachusetts, was scoreless in nine games with the Northern Cyclones of the National Collegiate Development Conference this season.
He also added two goals and an assist in six games with the North Suburban Wings 18U AAA. Fleming posted six points in 28 games with Proctor Academy in 2019-20.
Red Wings bring Boyle back to taxi squad

Goaltender Kevin Boyle (20-15-1, 2.99 GAA, .903 SV%, 1 SO in 39 games with Westside in 2010-11) was reassigned from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League to the Detroit Red Wings taxi squad on Thursday.
The 28-year-old from Manalapan Township, New Jersey is 5-2-1 with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .886 save percentage in nine games with Grand Rapids this season.
Tambellini inks extension through 2023-24 with Rogle

Forward Adam Tambellini (63 goals, 58 assists in 107 games with Vernon and Surrey from 2011-13) has signed a three-year contract extension with Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League.
The 26-year-old Edmontonian scored 15 goals and 28 points in 37 games with Rögle this season, his second playing in Sweden.
Tambellini was selected in the 3rd round, 65th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Olver released by Schwenninger Wild Wings

Forward Darin Olver (34 goals, 55 assists in 59 games with Chilliwack in 2002-03) won’t be back with the Schwenninger Wild Wings next season after the club announced it parted ways with the 36-year-old.
Olver, who’s from Burnaby, has played the last 14 seasons in Germany and 13 of them in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, which is the top professional league in the country.
He had a goal and six points in 15 games with Schwenninger this past season.
Dillon promoted to University of Victoria head coach
Alec Dillon is the new head coach of the University of Victoria men's hockey team.
Dillon has been an assistant coach for the Vikes for the last two seasons.

Alec Dillon (22-6-0, 2.57 GAA, .915 SV%, 2 SO in 33 games with Victoria in 2013-14) has been named head coach of the University of Victoria men’s hockey team, which plays in the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League.
Dillon was an assistant coach for the Vikes over the last two seasons after playing for them from 2017-19. He takes over from veteran bench boss Harry Schamhart, who remains with UVic as general manager.
The 24-year-old Dillon, who hails from Nanaimo, was a 5th round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2014 NHL Draft.
