Salmon Arm Silverbacks 2002-born defenseman and Yale University commit Tucker Hartmann posted his first BCHL goal on Wednesday in a 5-2 loss to Vernon.
The goal was Salmon Arm’s first of the game, at 6:07 of the first period, and came in Hartmann’s 11th career BCHL game. He now has a goal and four assists this season, his first in the BCHL.

2002-born Nanaimo Clippers forward Brody Waters scored his first BCHL goal at 17:55 of the first period in a 4-1 loss against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
Waters’ goal gave the Clippers a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. He was playing in his ninth BCHL game after committing to Nanaimo for this season almost a year ago.
Grizzlies forward Arthurs to sit out two games
Victoria Grizzlies forward Desmond Arthurs was given a two-game suspension for his checking from behind major penalty and game misconduct against Cowichan Valley on Monday.
The 2003-born forward from Saanich, BC will sit out Wednesday’s game with Alberni Valley as well as Friday’s return match-up against the Capitals. Arthurs can return to Victoria’s lineup on Saturday against Nanaimo.
Raabe transfers to Sacred Heart University

University of Michigan forward Dakota Raabe (43 goals, 55 assists in 115 games with Wenatchee from 2015-17) has transferred to Sacred Heart University for the 2021-22 season.
The 23-year-old from Capistrano Beach, California posted 11 goals and 33 points in 115 games with Michigan over the last four seasons.

Defenseman Will Spitzer (no points in five games with Nanaimo in 2018-19) has committed to the University of New England to play NCAA Division III hockey starting this fall.
The 2000-born native of Lincolnshire, Illinois had two goals and seven points in 24 games this past season with the Boston Advantage of the National Collegiate Development Conference.
Red Wings assign Boyle to the AHL

Goaltender Kevin Boyle (20-15-1, 2.99 GAA, .903 SV%, 1 SO in 39 games with Westside in 2010-11) was reassigned from the Detroit Red Wings taxi squad to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old from Manalapan Township, New Jersey is 5-2-1 with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .886 save percentage in nine games with Grand Rapids this season.
Three Stars of the Night
First Star: Alberni Valley forward Brandon Buhr posted a pair of goals and an assist as the Bulldogs beat Nanaimo 4-1.
Second Star: Vernon Vipers forward Tyler Carpendale had two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Salmon Arm.
Third Star: Bulldogs goaltender Luke Pearson stopped 47 shots, including 17 in the third period in the win against the Clippers.
Honourable Mentions: Nanaimo goaltender Ethan Neitsch kicked out 41 shots. Alberni Valley forward Josh Van Unen chipped in a pair of assists. Vipers defenseman Griffen Barr scored two goals.
