BCHL Bulletin: Raabe returns to Utah in 2022-23, Silverbacks hire Trozzo as broadcaster, and more!

Grizzlies sign Raabe for 2022-23

25-year-old forward Dakota Raabe (10 goals, 11 assists in 39 games with Wenatchee in 2014-15) has re-signed with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies.

Raabe, who is from Capistrano Beach, CA, played 34 NCAA games with Sacred Heart University this past season, scoring two goals and eight points in 34 games. In 10 games With the Grizzlies, he scored three times and totalled seven points. Raabe also notched six points in 14 ECHL playoff games.

Silverbacks bring Trozzo into their broadcast booth

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks announced on Thursday that Tony Trozzo has joined the club as its play-by-play broadcaster and communications coordinator.

Trozzo, who’s from Qualicum Beach, BC, is an alumnus of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Radio, Television, and Broadcast News program.

While in school, he called SAIT Trojans hockey in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

Genoway moves from Sweden to Austria

Defender Chay Genoway (17 goals, 32 assists in 56 games with Vernon in 2005-06) has signed with EC Salzburg of the ICE Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.

The 35-year-old Morden, MB product had five goals and 21 points in 51 games for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League in 2021-22, his eighth season playing in Europe.

Didur turns pro in HockeyTvåan this fall

West Vancouver, BC product Bo Didur (64-77-0, 3.47 goals-against average, .894 save percentage, five shutouts in 150 games with Surrey, Langley, and Salmon Arm from 2013-18) has signed his first pro contract with Ånge IK of HockeyTvåan, which is the fourth tier of hockey in Sweden.

The 25-year-old goaltender spent the last four seasons playing NCAA Division III hockey at Concordia University Wisconsin, finishing with a 23-32-6 record, a 3.61 goals-against average, and a .906 save percentage in 63 games.

Supinski jumps to EHC Basel for 2022-23

Collegeville, PA product Brett Supinski (48 goals, 50 assists in 58 games with Coquitlam in 2014-15) has signed with EHC Basel in the Swiss League for 2022-23.

Supinski, a 26-year-old forward, posted 13 goals and 33 points in 41 games with Västerviks IK of HockeyAllsvenskan in the 2021-22 season, his first in Europe after two years in the ECHL.
