BCHL Bulletin: West Kelowna lands Sawyer, LeDrew commits to Windsor, and more

The West Kelowna Warriors signed 2006-born goalie Ethan Sawyer for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The West Kelowna, BC native spent the last two seasons with the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Sawyer posted a 3.34 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage across 40 games during the 2025-26 campaign, his second with the Steelers.
Prince George Spruce Kings defender Trent LeDrew committed to the University of Windsor to play U Sports hockey next season. The 2005-born Windsor, Ontario native anchored the blue line for the Spruce Kings for the last two seasons. LeDrew recorded a goal and 25 assists for 26 points in 53 games during the 2025-26 season.
West Kelowna Warriors‘ 2005-born defender Philip Mønnich Hagen is off to play U Sports hockey at Lakehead University this September. The Stavanger, Norway native patrolled the backline for the Warriors over the last two years. He collected four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 42 games during the 2025-26 campaign.
The Langley Rivermen saw 2007-born defender Reinis Auzins sign with Sweden’s IF Björklöven U20 program for 2026-27. Hailing from Riga, Latvia, the young blueliner skated for the Rivermen during the 2025-26 season. Auzins registered one goal and three assists for four points in 16 games in Langley following a mid-season signing from Sherbrooke of the QMJHL.
Staff announcements
The Prince George Spruce Kings congratulated 44-year-old Assistant General Manager Craig Carter on being hired as general manager of the Burnaby Steelers of the BC Hockey Conference. Carter was in a front office role for the Spruce Kings from 2019 to 2026, most notably as assistant general manager. He previously served as an amateur scout for the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
Alumni updates
The 25-year-old forward Brett Roloson has transferred to Vänersborgs HC of Sweden’s HockeyTvåan for 2026-27. He posted 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points in 35 games for Chiefs Leuven in the Central European Hockey League last season. The Worcester, Massachusetts native played his BCHL career with the Cowichan Valley Capitals, Merritt Centennials, and Powell River Kings, totalling 25 goals, 28 assists, and 53 points in 108 games from 2018 to 2020.
BCHL alumnus Kaeden Patrick has parted ways with Chambéry of FFHG, Division 1. The 25-year-old Vancouver native tallied 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in 30 French games last season. Patrick skated for the Langley Rivermen during the 2019-20 season, recording 11 goals, seven assists, and 18 points in 39 career games before moving on to a four-year NCAA Division III career at Skidmore College.
