The Chilliwack Chiefs put their number one power play to work as they defeated Surrey 2-0 in game 2 to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Caron stopped 32 shots for the shutout.
The first period saw Surrey come out flying, putting 14 shots on Caron. Chilliwack stuck first blood again on the power play when Eagles defenceman Jimmy Darby took a slashing penalty. Arlo Merritt notched his first of the playoffs from Tommy Lyons and Nikita Nesterenko to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. Chilliwack only had seven shots on goal in the opening frame.
The second period saw the Chiefs put more pressure on the Eagles. Surrey forward Owen Nolan took a hooking penalty 1:37 into the second to put the Chiefs a man up. Chilliwack sniper Ethan Bowen jumped on a rebound on the power play to get his first post-season goal this year, from Joey Larson and Kyle Penney.

The third period saw Caron shut it down as there was no scoring and no penalties. The Chiefs put seven shots on goal, but the Eagles struck for eleven.
Caron stood tall through out the game. At the other end, Surrey went with Thomas Scarfone and he made 22 saves after sitting out game one on Friday. Chilliwack flexed its power play muscle, going 2-for-3 on the man advantage and showing why the Chiefs had the best power play in the league during the regular season.
The Chiefs look to take a stranglehold on the series in game three on Monday at the South Surrey arena. Game four is set for Tuesday, also at the SSA.
