McHardy suspended four games for a blow to the head
Coquitlam Express forward Emmett McHardy has been suspended four games by the BC Hockey League department of player safety following a major penalty and game misconduct incurred during a game on Nov. 27 versus the Chilliwack Chiefs.
The 2003-born rookie forward from Vancouver, BC is eligible to return to Coquitlam’s lineup on Dec. 11 against the Bulldogs in Alberni Valley.
Dukovac gone for two games for bringing the BCHL into disrepute
Langley Rivermen forward Max Dukovac is suspended for two games by the BCHL DOPS under regulation 311.6, which is being part of any incident or issue that brings the league into disrepute. In case you’re wondering, disrepute is defined as “the state of being held in low esteem by the public”.
He played against Alberni Valley this past Saturday and scored the winning goal, so the incident in question must have occurred during that game. Dukovac, a 2002-born forward from Aurora, IL, sat out Sunday’s game in Victoria and will also miss Friday’s matchup in Vernon. He is eligible to return this Saturday as the Rivermen visit West Kelowna.
Dafoe handed a four game suspension for a blow to the head
The BC Hockey League department of player safety announced on Sunday that Chase Dafoe of the West Kelowna Warriors has been suspended four games for a blow to the head major and game misconduct he received in the first period versus Cranbrook on Saturday night.
Dafoe’s suspension starts on Wednesday when West Kelowna visits Vernon. The 2002-born forward from Beverly, MA is eligible to return to the Warriors’ lineup against the Vipers at Kal Tire Place on Dec. 11.
Cristall suspended three games for kicking
West Kelowna forward Tyler Cristall will miss the next three games with a suspension for receiving a match penalty for kicking as dolled out by the BC Hockey League’s department of player safety on Sunday.
The infraction occurred at 17:21 of the third period against Cranbrook this past Saturday. The 2002-born forward from North Vancouver, BC serves the first game of his suspension on Wednesday when the Warriors head to Vernon. Cristall is eligible to return on Dec. 10 when West Kelowna visits the Merritt Centennials.
Kings sign Coghlan and Peters as affiliates
The Powell River Kings have added 2004-born goaltender Nick Peters and 2003-born defensemen Ben Coghlan as affiliate players from the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.
Peters, who hails from Powell River, is 15-0-2 with a 1.90 goals-against average, a .925 save percentage, and one shutout in 19 games with the Storm this season.
Coghlan is from Nanaimo and has seven assists in a dozen games for Campbell River thus far this season. Both players were dressed for the Kings on Saturday against the Clippers.

Chilliwack vs. Surrey first career BCHL goals
The Chilliwack Chiefs signed 2005-born defenseman Hunter Curtis as an affiliate player prior to this weekend’s games and he scored in his second BCHL appearance on Sunday for his first goal in the league.
The milestone marker came at 5:40 of the third period and was the winning goal in a 3-2 triumph over the Surrey Eagles. The Langley, BC product is a full-time member of the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U18 squad in the BC Elite Hockey League.
Eagles forward Ante Zlomislic teed up Curtis’ heroics when he scored his first career BCHL goal with 2:56 left in the second period to tie the game at 2-2 heading to the third.
The tally came in the Coquitlam, BC native’s 10th career BCHL game. He now has a goal and two assists in his rookie season thus far, with all three points coming over the last four games.
Salmon Arm vs. Wenatchee first career BCHL goals
Wenatchee Wild defenseman Jakob Karpa tallied his first career BCHL goal in his 11th game on Sunday. It came with 5:06 gone in the third period in a 6-2 loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
He has now posted a goal and four assists from Wenatchee’s blueline. The 2002-born defenseman from Newport Beach, CA played last season with the Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League.

First Star: Salmon Arm forward Isaac Lambert had a goal and two assists as the Silverbacks dumped Wenatchee 6-2.
Second Star: Chilliwack forward Cameron Johnson posted a pair of assists in the Chiefs’ 3-2 win over Surrey.
Third Star: Langley defenseman Tanner Attew had the winning goal and an assist as the Rivermen topped Victoria 2-1.
Honourable Mentions: Silverbacks forward Danny Ciccarello and Rivermen forward Keeton Oakley each notched a goal and an assist. Chiefs defenseman Abram Wiebe finished with two assists.
