The Victoria Grizzlies have recruited 2005-born defenseman Hoyt Stanley for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season.
The West Vancouverite is with the Vancouver Northwest Hawks U18 AAA this season and put up six assists in six exhibition games last fall.
He and fellow 2005-born skater Matthew Wood were profiled in the Victoria Times Colonist on Sunday. The Grizzlies announced Wood’s commitment last December.
Stanley was selected by the Everett Silvertips in the 4th round, 81st overall in last year’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Following his social media announcement on Saturday night of his intent to put the Nanaimo Clippers on the market, owner Wes Mussio reinforced his stance via a number of media appearances on Sunday.
One of them was a chat with Greg Sasaki of the Nanaimo News Bulletin. The article reports Mussio’s had “close to a dozen” queries about his desire to offload the Clippers with “people figuring it’s a fire sale and they can buy low”.
Dalpe called up to Blue Jackets taxi squad

Forward Zac Dalpe (27 goals and 36 assists in 46 games with Penticton in 2007-08) has been recalled from the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League to the Columbus Blue Jackets taxi squad.
Dalpe, 31, has three goals and four points in five games with the Monsters this season. He was named Cleveland’s captain early last month.
Finley and Goncalves sent back to junior by Syracuse

The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned 2002-born forward Jack Finley (one goal in two games with Penticton in 2017-18) and 2001-born forward Gage Goncalves (one goal, one assist in four games with Chilliwack in 2017-18) to their respective WHL teams.
Goncalves, who’s from Maple Ridge, BC, had an assist in his lone game with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL on Saturday. He’ll join the Everett Silvertips.
Finley played two games with the Crunch but didn’t score any points and had a plus/minus rating of -1. He’ll head back to the Spokane Chiefs.
The St. Louis product notched a goal and an assist in three games with the West Kelowna Warriors during the 2020-21 BCHL training season last fall.
Stingrays release Bonar from contract
The Stingrays have released goaltender Sean Bonar from his standard player contract.

Goaltender Sean Bonar (38-15-0, 2.60 GAA, .908 SV%, 6 SO in 59 games with Penticton from 2008-10) was released by the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays on Sunday.
The Delta, BC product was 0-1-2 with a 3.96 goals-against-average and a .866 save percentage in four games with the Stingrays after signing with them on Feb. 8.
