2002-born Vernon Vipers forward Cameron MacDonald has committed to Dartmouth College for September 2021.
The Surrey product had 15 goals and ten assists in 56 games as a rookie with the Vipers this past season. He caught fire in the playoffs with five goals and four assists in the five-game series win over Wenatchee.

Trail Smoke Eaters goaltender Logan Terness has announced the designs he chose for his 2020-21 mask. The winners were chosen by the 2002-born netminder from a selection of people who submitted designs starting last month.
New Westminster Royals alum McIlhargey passes away at 68

Jack McIlhargey, who played in the BCHL for the New Westminster Royals during the 1970-71 season, passed away on Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 68.
McIlhargey played 393 NHL games for the Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers and Hartford Whalers. He served as honorary chairman for the 2015 BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack and was an amateur scout for the Flyers for the last nine season.

Forward Shawn McBride (13 goals, 37 assists in 127 games with Victoria from 2012-15) has re-signed with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League for 2020-21.
The 24-year-old from Victoria had two goals and four assists in 33 games with the Wolf Pack in 2019-20. He added seven assists in 20 ECHL games with the Norfolk Admirals.
McLain inks one year deal with Iowa

The Iowa Wild announced on Monday the re-signing of forward Mitch McLain (38 goals, 54 assists in 111 games with Langley from 2012-14) to a one year, American Hockey League contract.
McLain, 26, posted two goals and two assists in 28 games with the Wild last season. The Baxter, Minnesota product also chipped in four goals and two assists in eight games with the Allen Americans of the ECHL.

Forward Anthony Collins (eight goals, 16 assists in 85 games with Merritt, Prince George, Burnaby and Victoria from 2007-09) has re-signed with the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators for the upcoming season.
The 30-year-old notched three goals and 11 assists in 59 games for the Gladiators in the 2019-20 season, his seventh in the ECHL.

26-year-old Shane Hanna (15 goals, 59 assists in 108 games with Penticton and Salmon Arm) has re-signed with Rungsted Seier Capital for the 2020-21 season. Rungsted plays in Metal Ligaen, which is the premier league in Denmark.
Hanna, who’s from New Westminster, led all Metal Ligaen defensemen in scoring in 2019-20 with 14 goals and 36 assists in 48 games.

Humboldt Broncos assistant coach Curtis Toneff (five goals, 15 assists in 53 games with Alberni Valley, West Kelowna, and Trail from 2010-13) was suspended by the team on Sunday and according to a release,
“will have no further association with the Broncos”.
Toneff has been charged by the RCMP with assault in connection with a May 24 incident in Humboldt. He is set to appear in Saskatchewan provincial court on August 17.
McLaughlin and Byrne involved in big junior B trade

Defensemen Ethan McLaughlin (eight assists in 53 games with Penticton, Salmon Arm, and Alberni Valley from 2017-19) and Logan MacDonald (no points in three games with the Langley Rivermen in 2018-19) along with forward Matthew Byrne (five goals, eight assists in 61 games with Penticton and Powell River) were all part of a six-player trade in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League on Monday.
All three players are 2000-born, so they’re entering their final season of junior hockey. The deal sees McLaughlin and Byrne as part of a package going to the Nelson Leafs while MacDonald was part of the return going to the Summerland Steam.
McLaughlin had a goal and 14 assists in 21 games with Summerland in 2019-20. He also played one game with Penticton as an affiliate player.
Byrne had 18 goals and eight assists in 29 games with Summerland after being released by the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He also played a game with the Vees as an AP.
MacDonald had three goals and 21 assists in 42 games for the Leafs last season.
