Express defenceman Head commits to the University of Alaska Anchorage

Coquitlam Express defenceman Wyatt Head, who started the 2019-20 season with Quinnipiac University but didn’t play any games, has committed to the University of Alaska Anchorage for this September.
The 20-year-old has has four goals and nine assists in 13 games with Coquitlam this season. Head had a goal and five assists in seven games with West Kelowna before being traded to the Express last month.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs play-by-play announcer Evan Hammond called his 1,000th career regular season BCHL game on Sunday in Merritt. 2019-20 is Hammond’s 17th season behind the mic and in the broadcast booth for the Bulldogs.

Goaltender Hunter Miska (53-21-5 with a 2.03 GAA, a .924 SV% and seven shutouts in 80 games with Penticton from 2013-15) has been called up by the Colorado Avalanche from the Colorado Eagles of the AHL.
The 24-year-old has a 13-5-3 record with a 2.62 GAA, a .919 SV% and one shutout in 22 games with the Eagles this season. He’s also appeared in three ECHL games with the Utah Grizzlies.

Second Star: Wenatchee forward Matt Dorsey notched a goal and three assists.
Third Star: Defenceman Jake Livingstone assisted on both Rivermen goals.
Honourable Mentions: Centennials forwards Evan Benwell and Thomas Manty each had two goals and an assist. Merritt defenceman Talon Zakall posted three assists. Wenatchee forwards Brett Chorske and Sam Morton, Alberni Valley forward Austin Spiridakis, Victoria forward Cody Monds and Powell River forward Devin Leduc each had a goal and an assist. Prince George goaltender Carter Woodside made 45 saves.
