Two current BC Hockey League players are on NHL Central Scouting’s latest Players to Watch list for the 2021 NHL Draft, which was released Friday.
Chilliwack forward Sasha Teleguine and Penticton captain Finlay Williams are both rated as ‘C’ prospects, which means they are candidates to be selected in the fourth round or later.
Teleguine didn’t play any games with the Chiefs during the training season last fall while Williams had three goals and six assists in 13 games with the Vees.
Trail alum Kent Johnson, who’s a freshman at the University of Michigan, is an ‘A’ prospect as a potential first-round pick. Johnson has 18 points in 16 games with the Wolverines this season.
Six others on the Players to Watch list spent time in the BCHL during the extended training camp, but have left to play in the USHL due to COVID-19 delays in BC.

Nolan goes from Surrey to Texas
2000-born defenseman Owen Nolan leaves Surrey to join Lone Star (NAHL).
Nolan was scoreless in two games for the Eagles during the BCHL's training season last fall.

After playing two games for the Surrey Eagles during the BCHL’s training season, 2000-born defenseman Owen Nolan has joined the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League.
Nolan, who hails from Mahopac, New York, had no points with the Eagles this past fall after putting up 21 in 54 games as a rookie in 2019-20.
He made his debut with the Brahmas on Friday night and is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Army this coming September.

Forward Connor Bedard, who was the top pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, has joined the West Kelowna Warriors in preparation for his season with the Regina Pats.
According to a news release from the Pats, the 2005-born centre from North Vancouver, BC will train and practice in West Kelowna until plans for Regina’s training camp are finalized.
In March 2020, Bedard became the first player to ever be granted exceptional status to play full-time in the WHL as a 15-year-old.
Sterzer exits Alberni Valley for Lone Star
2000-born forward Caige Sterzer leaves Alberni Valley to join Lone Star (NAHL).
He had 1-4-5 in 14 games for the Bulldogs during the BCHL's training season last fall.

Three-year veteran forward Caige Sterzer is gone from the Alberni Valley Bulldogs to the NAHL.
Sterzer, from Kimberley, BC, has signed with the Lone Star Brahmas. The 2000-born forward had a goal and four assists in 14 BCHL exhibition games last fall.
He has 56 points in 154 career BCHL games with the Bulldogs and Surrey over the last three seasons. Sterzer made his NAHL debut with the Brahmas on Friday and put up 14 penalty minutes.

Defenseman Nick Minerva (seven goals, 18 assists in 40 games with Surrey in 2016-17) has been loaned to the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers by the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Minerva, 24, has two assists in four games with Macon this season. He made his debut with the Oilers on Friday in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Indy Fuel.
