Shaw signs with Esbjerg Energy in Denmark

Forward Brady Shaw (71 goals, 68 assists in 113 games with Penticton, Coquitlam, and Surrey from 2011-13) has signed with Esbjerg Energy of the Metal Ligaen in Denmark.
The native of Ottawa, Ontario had 27 goals and 62 points in 48 games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL last season. Shaw also played five AHL games last season while on loan to the Cleveland Monsters, being held off the scoresheet.
His BCHL career included with a trip to both the Western Canada Cup, and the Royal Bank Cup, with Surrey in 2012-13.

The Cowichan Capitals have acquired 2001-born forward Jacob Brockman from the West Kelowna Warriors for future considerations. The El Segundo, California product has dual citizenship and therefore is not considered an import player for the Capitals. He had two goals and seven assists in 54 games with West Kelowna last season, his first in the BCHL.

The Surrey Eagles have added 2004-born defenseman Tait Ross to their roster for 2020-21. The Coquitlam native tallied three goals and 17 assists with Delta Hockey Academy’s Elite 15’s of the CSSHL last season.
Ross is the first 16-year-old to make the Eagles’ main roster since Brandon Santa Juana in 2018-19.

The Trail Smoke Eaters have announced that the team will be releasing a new podcast called “The Smoke Show”. The only other information released at this time was that Philippe Lapointe will be the first guest. Lapointe was the Smokies captain last season, his only in the BCHL, before heading off to the University of Michigan this fall.

The Chilliwack Chiefs have announced the date of their annual golf tournament. The ninth edition of the annual event will take place on September 10, with proceeds going to the Chilliwack Chiefs Education Fund. The team also said there will be social distancing and other restrictions in place.
