Silverbacks and Smoke Eaters swing a massive deal

The Trail Smoke Eaters connected with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks as part of a big trade that also involves the Steinbach Pistons of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
First, the Smoke Eaters traded 2000-born forward Matt Osadick and future considerations to the Silverbacks for 2000-born forward Noah Wakeford and 2001-born forward Coalson Wolford.
Wakeford, from Okotoks, Alberta, has 33 goals and 75 assists in 150 career BCHL games with Salmon Arm over the last three seasons. His 50 points in 2019-20 were second on the Silverbacks in scoring.
Wolford hails from San Jose, California but has played the last four seasons in Canada. He had 11 goals and 10 assists in 49 games as a rookie with Salmon Arm this past season.
Osadick started the 2019-20 season with the Merritt Centennials, where he had three goals and five assists in 36 games. He was traded to Trail in January and put up four goals and seven assists in 16 games for the Smokies. The Grande Pointe, Manitoba product is committed to the University of Maine for 2021-22.

The Silverbacks then flipped Osadick and future considerations to Steinbach for 2002-born forward Carter Loney. The Columbus, Ohio product played the last four seasons in Manitoba and was named the MJHL rookie of the year in 2019-20 after scoring 16 goals and 34 assists in 52 games for the Pistons.
Loney, who’s ranked 167th by Central Scouting for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, was also named to the MJHL second all-star team and the MJHL all-rookie team. He is committed to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth for September 2021.
Cents ship rights to Schneider to Coquitlam
Coquitlam acquires 2000-born forward Spencer Schneider from Merritt for future considerations.
Schneider left the Centennials last November to join Aberdeen of the NAHL.
He is listed online as committed to Bowling Green for this fall.#BCHL #BCHLNetwork

The Coquitlam Express picked up the rights to 2000-born forward Spencer Schneider from the Merritt Centennials for future considerations.
Schneider, from Lakeville, Minnesota, began the 2019-20 season in Merritt with two goals and two assists in 20 games before joining the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League in late November.
The Bowling Green commit finished with seven goals and 14 assists in 30 games for the Wings.

The Merritt Centennials announced their 2020 hockey school on Tuesday. The school is for kids from ages 6 to 15 and runs from August 17 to 21 at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Matthew Creamer (25 goals, 19 assists in 103 games with Nanaimo from 2015-17) and Brett Stirling (eight goals, 37 assists in 95 games with Victoria from 2015-17) have both been named captains for the Connecticut College Camels for the 2020-21 season.
Stirling has six goals and 17 assists over the last three NCAA Div. III seasons with Connecticut College. Creamer has spent the last two seasons with Connecticut, putting up 14 goals and 11 assists in 49 games. Both Stirling and Creamer served as alternate captains for the Camels during the 2019-20 season.
