Kings sign defenseman Roloson

The Powell River Kings got a commitment from defenseman Ross Roloson for the 2020-21 season. He is the brother of current Kings forward Brett Roloson.

The 16-year-old had four goals and 30 assists in 35 games with Northern Alberta Xtreme Prep of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Roloson also played five games with the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Kaldis signs two year deal in Bakersfield

Defenseman Yanni Kaldis (18 goals, 92 assists in 112 games with Nanaimo from 2014-16) has signed a two year American Hockey League contract with the Bakersfield Condors.

Kaldis just wrapped up his four-year college career at Cornell University where he posted 14 goals and 71 assists in 133 NCAA games.

Tatarnic joins Estevan as general manager and head coach

Jason Tatarnic has been hired as general manager and head coach of the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He takes over from Chris Lewgood, who was fired on April 15.

Tatarnic held both roles with the Chilliwack Chiefs from 2014-18. He had a 142-70-10-10 record with the Chiefs and was let go a week before the 2018 Royal Bank Cup national junior A championship.

Three Stars of the Night ⏪ May 7, 2016

First Star: West Kelowna forward Nicholas Rutigliano had a goal and two assists as the Warriors beat Brooks 6-0 to win the 2016 Western Canada Cup.

Second Star: Warriors forward Kyle Marino had a goal and an assist in the win.

Third Star: West Kelowna goaltender Keelan Williams made 32 saves for the shutout.

Honourable Mentions: Warriors forward Kylar Hope posted a goal and an assist.

Brian Wiebe

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
