Spruce Kings forward Kushniryk suspended five games
The Prince George Spruce Kings were without 20-year-old forward Will Kushniryk for the final two games of their first round playoff series after he was suspended five games by the BCHL.
The suspension is under BCHL regulation 311.6 for being part of any incident or issue that brings the league into disrepute. Disrepute is defined as “the state of being held in low esteem by the public”.
If Kushniryk returns to the Spruce Kings in 2020-21, he will sit out the first three games of the season due to the suspension.
Wild missed veteran Dorsey after he was suspended for game two and three
Wenatchee forward Matt Dorsey missed games two and three of the Wild’s series against Vernon due to a two game suspension.
At the 13:11 mark of the first period of game one, the 20-year-old was called for a two minute boarding minor. After a post-game review, the penalty was increased to a major penalty for a blow to the head, which comes with a two game suspension.
Dorsey, who tied for second in scoring on the Wild during the regular season, has no points in two games in the playoffs this year.
