BCHL Bulletin: Surrey secures trio, Bandits grads commit to MRU, and more

The Cowichan Valley Capitals have signed Ludovik Gauvin for next season. The 2006-born defender from Québec City, Québec, brings offence from the blueline. In 2025-26 with the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks of the North American Hockey League, he logged 10 goals, 16 assists, and 26 points over 50 games.
The Surrey Eagles bolstered their forward depth, acquiring Brant Romaniuk from the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The 2007-born Timmins, Ontario native also played for the Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. During his 2025-26 campaign, he posted six goals, 11 assists, and 17 points across 26 games for Sherwood Park. Romaniuk also put up 22 goals and 27 assists in 24 games for the Rock.
Keeping the pipeline active, the Eagles also signed Tommy Coccaro. The 2007-born forward from Fairfield, Connecticut also arrives from Sherwood Park. He played 43 games for the Cru in the 2025-26 season securing eight goals, seven assists, and 15 points. Coccaro is committed to Colgate University.
Surrey rounded out its recruiting class by committing forward Jackson Mosley. The 2007-born Newtown, Pennsylvania native joins from the New Jersey Jr. Titans 18 U AAA. Across 16 games in 2025-26, he tallied four goals and one assist. He also made his junior hockey debut, playing one game with New Jersey in the NAHL.
The Nanaimo Clippers are celebrating a college commitment by Hayden Fechner. The 2005-born Edmonton, Alberta forward committed to Stonehill College. In a big 2025-26 season, he played 53 games, racking up 26 goals, 28 assists, and 54 points. Fechner is a veteran of 219 junior hockey games over the last five seasons in the BCHL and Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Championship goaltender Zach Zahara graduates from the Brooks Bandits to Mount Royal University to play USports hockey. The 2005-born Rocky View, Alberta native helped the Bandits secure back-to-back BCHL titles. During 2025-26, he dominated with a 3.13 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage over 43 games. Zahara was named BCHL Playoff MVP last month.
The Bandits also see Harry Ahlberg commit to Mount Royal University. The 2005-born Stockholm, Sweden forward delivered a solid transition to North America. He scored 22 goals, 29 assists, and 51 points in 53 games during the 2025-26 season with Brooks. Ahlberg had two goals and an assist in the Bandits’ five game final series win against Nanaimo.
The Chilliwack Chiefs watch Adam Boatter move to the Western Hockey League. The 2007-born Maple Ridge, BC, defender signed with the Everett Silvertips. In 2025-26, he posted five goals, 17 assists, and 22 points in 54 games for the Chiefs. He has seven goals and 39 assists for 46 points in 152 games split between Chilliwack and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. He is committed to Colorado College.
The Cowichan Valley Capitals will miss Gavin Nemis next season. The 2006-born East St. Paul, Manitoba, forward signed a WHL agreement with the Kamloops Blazers. He led offensively during 2025-26, scoring 20 goals, 28 assists, and 48 points across 50 games with the Capitals. The totals saw him finish fourth in scoring on Cowichan Valley.
Front office news
The Vancouver Canucks have hired Richard Seeley. The 47-year-old Powell River, BC, native becomes general manager of the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Canucks and assistant GM of the big club. He managed the AHL’s Ontario Reign in 2025-26. Seeley has BCHL roots, suiting up for the Powell River Paper Kings during the 1995-96 season. He had a goal and eight assists in 44 games while playing on the Sunshine Coast.
The Brooks Bandits added 52-year-old Darryl Sinclair as an Eastern Canada scout. Most recently, the Hamilton, Ontario product served as head coach for the Junior Aces in the Montreal Meltdown U19 league in 2025-26.
Former Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Jared Langdon was traded in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday. The 2006-born St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador native moves from the Owen Sound Attack to the Niagara IceDogs. In 2025-26, he notched 11 goals, nine assists, and 20 points over 34 games for Blackfalds before joining the Attack. He also previously played for the Prince George Spruce Kings, putting up five goals and eight assists in 41 games in 2023-24.
Alumni updates
Pro forward Tyler Morley keeps moving in Europe. The 34-year-old Burnaby, BC, native transferred to Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the DEL. Playing for EHC Kloten in the Swiss National League in 2025-26, he logged 12 goals, 14 assists, and 26 points in 42 games. Morley was a solid contributor for the Surrey Eagles from 2008 to 2012. He amassed 67 goals, 89 assists, and 156 points in 208 games.
Twenty-seven-year-old forward Jagger Williamson secured a new deal. The Lumby, BC, native signed with Tours in France. He spent 2025-26 with Eppan/Appiano in the Italian Hockey League, tallying 20 goals, 21 assists, and 41 points in 23 games. A Vernon Vipers legend from 2014 to 2019, he posted 54 goals, 119 assists, and 173 points over 233 games.
Forward Michael Regush shifts to Germany. The 27-year-old Surrey, BC, product joined Blue Devils Weiden. In 2025-26, he tallied 12 goals, 21 assists, and 33 points across 36 games for Rouen in France’s Ligue Magnus. Regush skated in the BCHL for mostly the Merritt Centennials, but also a handful of games for the Langley Rivermen. He earned 20 goals, 33 assists, and 53 points in 106 games from 2014 to 2017.
University forward Walker Erickson has transferred programs. The 24-year-old from Surrey, BC joins the MacEwan Griffins following the closure of Simon Fraser University’s NCAA-travelling team. In 2025-26, he posted seven goals, two assists, and nine points in 20 games with SFU. In the BCHL, he skated with the Trail Smoke Eaters, Merritt Centennials, Nanaimo Clippers, and Vernon Vipers from 2018 to 2023. He totalled 32 goals, 31 assists, and 63 points in 147 games.
Forward Jack Gorton is switching schools. The 24-year-old product of Granite Springs, New York transferred in the NCAA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to Stonehill College. In 2025-26, he scored two goals in a dozen games. Gorton suited up for the Victoria Grizzlies from 2021 to 2023. He collected 26 goals, 47 assists, and 73 points in 107 games.
Zachary Okabe is heading overseas. The 25-year-old from Fukuoka, Japan leaves the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL for HC Thurgau in the Sky Swiss League. He produced a strong 2025-26 campaign, recording 19 goals, 37 assists, and 56 points in 65 games with Wings. Okabe laced up for one game with the Victoria Grizzlies in 2016-17.
